Tehran, Nov 8, IRNA -- Managing Director of the Central Securities Depository and Settlement Company (SAMAT) Mohammad-Reza Mohseni said that the 20th International Congress of Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG) will be held in Tehran from December 5-9.

ACG was set up in November 1997 with the membership of 14 depository companies. The ACG is currently a regional platform of 33 depositories and clearing organizations from 23 countries including China, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Iran.

According to Mohseni, the congress will seek to facilitate communications and promote the atmosphere of business and investment.

Iran has become a member of ACG since 2012 and will host its general assembly, with Japan being in charge of technical issues and Pakistan responsible for executive directing of the congress.

The official also described the congress as an opportunity for introducing Iran capital market and economy to foreign companies.

Some 90 members of ACG have so far registered to take part in the upcoming congress, he said.

Managing Director of the Central Securities Depository and Settlement Company (SAMAT) Mohammad-Reza Mohseni said that his company will sign two memoranda of understanding with the Japanese and Taiwan companies.
